The open heel design helps to prevent pressure ulcers on the heel caused by the additional 15-18 mm of Hg pressure on the heel by compression stockings. The DVT Hose allow for easy visualization and palpation of the heel at all times. Length measuremetns; Knee - floor to just below knee crease. Thigh - floor to fullest part of thigh. Ankle circumference is around the smallest part of the ankle. Calf circumference is taken at the fullest part of the calf. Thigh circumferenc is taken for thigh highs only and taken around the fullest part of thigh.
